About Us
Our farm journal begins in the Fall of 2002 without pasture or sheep. The first entries are about plans, dreams, unanswered questions, speculation about how to begin. A mound of books about raising sheep rose slowly on the kitchen counter ----- it was sort of like the year before my husband applied to medical school and we read a book called, So You Want to Be a Doctor. He did eventually become a doctor, but who would have guessed all those years ago that we would turn a few acres of solid woods into pasture.
Our first sheep arrived in September of 2003.....three girls.....Lucy, Ethel, and Coco. The girls and I considered each other across the front yard and I thought, “These are not dogs or cats.” I guessed they were thinking, “This is not a shepherd.” All of us were right.
Now, well into 2012, our flock numbers 26 and will double as this year's lambs arrive. We will register the lambs with the Canadian Livestock Records Corporation. All of our sheep are registered and pedigreed. Their breeding and lambing histories are accessible at the following link as is the year's lamb list. Click Here.
